This episode of Season 2, is an extension of the last episode of the previous season wherein the FBI team members are used by a psychopathic killer to achieve his ends. The killer keeps dropping clues, and the team members have to be on their toes to glean something out of it so that another tragedy may be stopped from happening. This killer somehow keeps tabs on each member of the BAU. Agent Elle has been shot at, and looks dead. Gideon asks his team members to proceed with investigations in the normal fashion, but Reid insists on digging out a personal angle to the whole drama. An interesting sequence of events follows after Morgan and JJ conduct a background check on Rebecca’s family after coming to know that she is an adopted kid–they discover that her real surname is Garner, and Reid finds that Rebecca’s biological father had confided in his mother during his stay in the Bennington Sanitarium. Some of the best moments in the whole episode include the one where Reid tells Garcia that “schizophrenia is genetically passed”. Other memorable scenes include the juxtaposition of all characters spread over different set-ups at the end–Hotch cleaning Elle’s wall, Gidgeon and Elle in the hospital room, Garcia and Morgan in the office, and Reid and his mother on the plane. Another touching scene is one where Elle has a virtual tête-à-tête with her father as doctors make efforts to save her.
