Being fired from a job, can be one of the most devastating experiences for anyone. It gets even worse when you have no idea why they fired you, and just see the bomb being dropped on you out of nowhere, when you are least expecting it.
That is exactly what happened to A.J. Cook, better known as JJ from Criminal Minds. The death of her character, in the sixth season of the show, came as a huge shock for viewers, and they stormed the internet with messages and discussions about how unfair the decision was.
Recalling the time, the actress says that she hadn’t seen it coming at all, and was shell-shocked to learn that she was being fired. While one would expect her to throw up a tantrum and rebuke the show’s producers for screwing up her life, Miss Cook did just what any other actor in their right mind would do, by quitting on a cordial note.
After all, when it is a show of the stature of Criminal Minds that one is talking about, you just never know when you might be called in for a second chance. Considering the fan response that A.J. Cook got, her return to the show in its latest season was quite predictable.
However, the actress says that she didn’t take the fact that she would be called back for granted, and wasn’t “sitting around waiting for them to come back.” She proudly announced that she had a couple of lucrative offers that were made to her, and she weighed her options carefully before making the decision to accept the offer.
She goes on to say that she took the decision for her family, since she didn’t think it was fair to force them to move to a new city when they didn’t really want to.
How glad we are that she did it!
